Where were you arrested? A DUI is a state offense, but each jurisdiction handles them slightly differently.

Arizona woman arrested for felony DUI

Many drivers in Arizona have gotten behind the wheel with alcohol in their system at one time or another. Unfortunately, even if you are in full control of your vehicle, you could still face criminal charges if you are over the legal limit. If convicted, this could lead to serious penalties, especially if you are charged with a felony. The severity of the charges against you depends on a number of factors, including whether anyone was injured in the incident.

In Mohave County, a 49-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated DUI, a felony. She also faces a misdemeanor charge which is reported to be in relation to her driving while her license was suspended. According to deputies involved in the arrest, she was stopped after her vehicle was spotted speeding in an area where the limit was 35 mph. She is believed to have been traveling at 63 mph.

After pulling her over, deputies are alleged to have detected a smell of alcohol, although the driver denied that she had been drinking. However, she was arrested after it was discovered that she had a suspended license. At the Sheriff's office, she had a sample of blood drawn which was sent for analysis. The results of that test have not been reported.

This woman might benefit from the advice of an attorney as she prepares for her trial. As she allegedly had a prior DUI on her record, she could face harsher penalties than she would for a first offense. If you find yourself in a similar position, an attorney could be a valuable ally. He or she can advise you on the options available to you and may be able to help you clear your name and escape the charges against you.
