The penalties for a DUI conviction can be extremely difficult to face. If you were convicted of a DUI before, you probably faced class 1 misdemeanor charges and penalties of 10 days in jail, license suspension for 90 days, fines and other penalties. If you are now charged with a second or subsequent DUI, you may face more serious penalties. If you are charged with a third or subsequent DUI within a seven-year period, you will face an aggravated DUI charge, which is a felony and carries extremely harsh penalties.
