Where were you arrested? A DUI is a state offense, but each jurisdiction handles them slightly differently.

Phoenix Suns broadcaster arrested for DUI in Scottsdale

Sometimes it seems as if the rich and famous don't have to obey the same rules the rest of us have to follow. While that might be true in some situations, in other cases the rich and famous stand to lose a lot more when they break the law.

Take the DUI arrest of Phoenix Suns broadcaster Tom Chambers. The former basketball star was arrested last weekend in Scottsdale following the Arizona State University football game.

According to a news report, police said Chambers smelled of alcohol, and had bloodshot eyes, a flushed face, slurred speech and also a pair of "nearly empty" beer bottles inside his pickup.

He declined a sobriety test; an officer performed a field blood test. Results of that test were not cited.

According to the report, Chambers apparently told an officer that he had consumed "a few beers" during the Sun Devils game.

He had been pulled over near Pinnacle Vista Drive after reportedly weaving on Scottsdale Road as he drove by Happy Valley Road.

Chambers faces a variety of charges, including driving while under the influence to the slightest degree, having an open liquor container in his vehicle, failure to drive in a single lane and driving his truck in the bicycle lane.

Right now, the Suns have only issued a simple statement indicating the seriousness of the charges.

In some similar incidents, sports figures have lost their jobs and seen their lucrative careers vanish over DUI arrests and convictions.

Anyone facing the daunting legal challenges and consequences of a drunk driving arrest should speak with an attorney experienced in successful DUI defense.
