How do you get your license reinstated?

Being convicted of drunk driving in Arizona has all kinds of consequences, many of which can have a significant impact on your life. The mark on your criminal record can affect job and housing prospects, while hefty fines can leave you struggling to make ends meet. If you are sentenced to any jail time, that is a portion of your life simply taken from you.

Repeated DUIS could lead to felony charges

Driving drunk is already considered a very serious offense in Arizona, as is the case throughout the United States. However, in certain situations, charges may be elevated to the level of felonies, which can mean harsher penalties and longer sentences. It is even possible to receive felony charges for what might otherwise have been considered a misdemeanor, if the offense follows multiple others within a set period of time.

Can you be forced to submit to a breath test?

If you are suspected of drunk driving in Arizona, these is a good chance that you will be pulled over and investigated. This may involve being asked to submit to a number of different tests aimed at determining your sobriety and your blood alcohol concentration. The tests used could include a range of field sobriety tests, a Breathalyzer test and possibly even a blood draw. Samples can also be taken from other parts of the body, such as your hair, to test for other forms of intoxication.

If something goes wrong while you are behind the wheel, you may be stopped by officers to ensure that you are not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This is just as much for your own safety as for that of other road users. Erratic driving could mean any number of things, such as a health condition like a heart attack, seizure or stroke.
